NBR provides psychology services as part of our multidisciplinary approach. Our Psychologist can support you to address psychological barriers to maximising your functional independence, and to manage the impact of your condition on your emotional wellbeing.
We are experienced in supporting people with a range of conditions, including: Chronic pain; Chronic health conditions; Post-surgical recovery; Stroke; Spinal Cord Injury; Parkinsons Disease; MS; Brain Injury, and; Dementia.
Our approach to psychological assessment and intervention involves:
- Comprehensive psychological assessments – helping you to build insight and understanding.
- Evidence-based psychological interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- Collaborative approach to assessment and treatment – equipping you with information, skills and strategies to self-manage.
- Person-centred, strengths-based and solution-focused goal-setting.
With your consent, our Psychologist can liaise closely with other multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic management.

Jonathan England
Psychologist
Jonathan is a Psychologist with a passion for helping people to make meaningful change in their lives. He is excited to work as part of a multidisciplinary team at Northern Beaches Rehabilitation.
He completed his post-graduate studies at the University of Western Sydney in 2007 and has been practicing as a registered Psychologist for over 10 years. Jonathan has worked in a broad range of settings and roles during this time, including multidisciplinary rehabilitation, pain management, aged care, dementia care and digital mental health. He is also a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor.
Jonathan has experience supporting people with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, adjustment to illness and injury and neurological conditions (including dementia). Jonathan’s approach to therapy incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches. Outside of his practice, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing and following football, and getting stuck into some gardening.
